Azalea Island

The island is built around a shared world of homes, residents, shops and activities. An activated Local Robot account connects the native app with the web experience, keeping the player’s character, inventory and progression attached to the same account. The interface provides clear places to enter that world, find an activity and return to something already in progress.

The native app also offers a direct introduction through four guest games: Bartender, Horse Racing, Sound Stage and Dominos. These can be opened without an account; guest scores and progress are not saved. The live island uses an internet connection and an activated account.

A Robot character and an Azalea flower companion give each player a recognizable identity. Colors, house choices, furnishings and collected items carry that identity into the world. Gardens, residents, missions and expeditions provide different ways to spend time on the island, while the companion’s traits and abilities connect care with progression.

The visual design carries across small details and larger destinations: a household object, a shop, a mission panel or a turn-based battle. Original illustration and animation keep those activities part of the same place. Customization is supported by saved game systems, so the things a player changes can become part of their next visit.

Prism Studio lets players draw pixel artwork, maintain a personal collection and bring a painting into their home. BloomBeat adds a vocal-project workspace with USTX import and export, supported backing tracks and rendered song previews. These are interactive tools with editing, project and playback needs of their own.

Building those tools inside a game means considering both the creative task and the surrounding experience. Controls need useful labels, work needs a place to be saved, and navigation needs to make returning to the village understandable. The result demonstrates custom application development alongside world and character design.

Azalea Camera uses ARKit on supported iPhone and iPad hardware to place a companion on a detected surface. Players can interact with their Azalea, select owned hats, choose a pose and capture photos with filters and frames. The native experience connects familiar game artwork and inventory with a different kind of interaction.

Optional sensing adds further responses. Music Sense uses ShazamKit to recognize songs; weather and nearby-place features use supported Apple services. Local learning can retain limited companion preferences and routines. These capabilities depend on the relevant device, permissions, language and service availability. Their controls distinguish optional sensing from ordinary play and photo capture.

The iOS app uses React Native, TypeScript and native Skia rendering for its game surface. WordPress APIs provide shared accounts, multiplayer state, inventory and progression. This architecture connects the app to an existing web service while allowing the native experience to use device capabilities and its own interface.

Home and Lock Screen widgets, a Live Activity and App Shortcuts bring selected island information and destinations outside the main game. A Messages extension supplies personalized character stickers. Together, these features show how one product can carry a consistent identity across an app, a website and platform-specific surfaces.
